Essendon are trying but they are unable to defend once they lose the football. They have moved Dylan Shiel into the middle and Sam Durham has attracted the Willem Drew tag, but it’s the defence that is letting them down. Jaxon Prior has made mistakes and Mitch Georgiades has been too good for Ben McKay and Jordan Ridley so far. Georgiades kicked 2.2 but is looking dangerous inside 50. The Bombers only trail by a goal, which is testament to their effort but Port – who are missing many key players – look slightly superior.
