Another one of Arnold Schwarzenegger’s classic 80s movies is getting the remake treatment, with Glen Powell stepping in as his replacement.

The 77-year-old took on the main role in Paul Michael’s dystopian action flick, the Running Man, which was based on Stephen King’s futuristic novel of the same name.

Arnie’s version hit the big screen in 1987, and saw him playing police helicopter pilot Ben Richards, a desperate man who takes part in a dangerous reality show where he goes on the run to escape a group of hunters who are out to kill him.

Filming has begun on the reboot, with production currently taking place in London – new pictures have emerged of Glen running around the deserted streets of the capital.

He could be seen sweating while jogging, sporting a dark hoodie and beige trousers, paired with a dark tan jacket and red trainers.

Paramount previously announced that the Anyone But You actor would be leading the revival, beside Karl Glusman, Katy O’Brian and Daniel Ezra.

According to Deadline, Edgar Wright is serving as director, while Josh Brolin is said to be in final negotiations to take on a villainous part.

It is currently slated to be released on November 21, 2025 – which happens to be the year that the novel was set in.

Stephen authored the Running Man in 1982, under the pseudonym Richard Bachman, while Paul Michael Glaser directed the original flick, set in 2019.

Arnie starred opposite Richard Dawson, Maria Conchita Alonso, Jim Brown and Yaphet Kotto.

It was met with mixed reviews at the time, and currently commands a 67% critics score on Rotten Tomatoes, compared to a 61% audience rating.

Ian Nathan from Empire described it as a ‘brainless, breathless thrill’, while Desson Thomson of the Washington Post encouraged would-be viewers to ‘stay at home and watch professional wrestling’ with their time instead.

All eyes will be on Glen to see whether he can step into the Terminator’s shoes with ease…

The Scream Queens favorite has rarely been out of the spotlight over the last few years, racking up roles in Twisters, Set It Up, Hit Man and Top Gun: Maverick, with Tom Cruise.

There has been intense speculation on whether he could replace Tom in the Mission: Impossible franchise, but he confessed this isn’t a project that his mom would be keen on.

Addressing the swirling rumors, he told ESPN’s Pat McAfee: ‘My mom would never let me do that.

‘That’s the worst gig in town, everybody knows that. That’s a death trap.’

The Running Man is set to be released on November 21, 2025.
