Your say – Roosters or Titans?
Impact man Fifita lifts the Titans
There’s 15 minutes left in the first half and David Fifita is coming off the bench for the Titans – he’s a great impact weapon to have but it’s still a little perplexing that the man who almost bumped Angus Crichton out of the Roosters is still a bench player at the Gold Coast this year.
He’s taken a couple of strong early runs and is involved as the Titans go over out wide – but the referee calls play back for an earlier knock-on from Jayden Campbell. Both sides have had their chances but it’s still all square.

Another HIA for Victor Radley
Uh oh. Victor Radley has come off for yet another head injury assessment after copping a bump in a tackle on Beau Fermor. Radley has a troubling history with head knocks and has already missed time this season due to concussion protocols. Here’s hoping he’s OK.

Brimson hits back for Titans
The Gold Coast finally complete a set in the Roosters’ half and they get onto the scoreboard through their dangerous halves. First Jayden Campbell earns a quick play-the-ball after almost breaking through the defensive line in front of the posts, then AJ Brimson wraps around the ruck and takes a short ball from Sam Verrills before crashing over.

Radley denied by forward pass
It looks like the Roosters have opened the Titans again but Sandon Smith’s offload to send Victor Radley over beside the posts has gone forward. The referee makes the right call and the Gold Coast get away with one there.
Now Radley gives away a penalty and the Gold Coast need to put something together here to at least put some pressure on the home side.

Nawaqanitawase grabs first points for Roosters
A knock-on close to the tryline from Spencer Leniu kills of the Roosters’ latest attacking raid, and a penalty against Chad Townsend for holding down in the tackle allows the Titans to get a breather and go on the attack for the first time tonight. But it fizzles out to nothing when Beau Fermor spills the ball.
The Tricolours have had the best of the opening 10 minutes and they crash through for the first points now, with Sandon Smith throwing a flat cutout pass to Mark Nawaqanitawase who makes a strong run to the line. Rugby convert Nawaqanitawase has been very impressive in the centres this season.

Dockar-Clay impressing as Roosters look threatening early
Some great carries through the middle here opens up the Titans defence and the Roosters are on the attack inside the 20 metres. But Chad Townsend’s grubber on the last is scooped up nicely by former fullback and now halfback Jayden Campbell.
Zach Dockar-Clay has shown some good signs already out of dummy-half for the Roosters, replacing NSW Origin utility Connor Watson (concussion).

Titans unleash new speedster
A bit of chaos here as Chad Townsend puts up a dangerous bomb in the direction of towering winger Dom Young, but Young is penalised for taking out Jojo Fifita.
Titans fullback Jaylan De Groot is playing his second NRL match here, replacing the injured Keano Kini, and by all accounts he’s the second-fastest player in the league (behind Manly’s Jason Saab, I think). Let’s see if he gets some room to move in open space tonight.

We’re off
The Gold Coast Titans kick things off for us tonight, with Chad Townsend receiving the kick and sending Naufahu Whyte on the first hit-up of the match. The Roosters get to the halfway line on the fifth tackle and Townsend puts in a solid kick to the Titans’ 10.

Ready for kick-off
The rain is holding off in a good sign for tonight’s game at Allianz Stadium. The Titans have taken the field, the Roosters are up next, the referees are ready, the mascot is ready. Here’s hoping for a quality contest to kick off Monday night footy.
