It seems like South Sydney have turned into what Penrith were in the first half. And the Panthers are cashing in. Brad Schneider scores close to the posts and all of a sudden, we might have a match on our hands. Souths just need to get through the next 10 minutes and they’ll be sweet. If they don’t, watch out. Rabbitohs lead 28-12 after 60 minutes

Penrith in again – Souths getting nervous
Hooray. Panthers on the board.
The error-strewn start to the second term has come back to hurt the Rabbitohs. Liam Martin scored following one of his trademark charges. Penrith are looking better. They look way more composed than they did in the first half. In some more bad news, Penrith halfback Trent Toelau has been helped back up the tunnel with a lower leg injury. The chances of him returning are slim. Rabbitohs lead 28-6 after 50 minutes

Souths now making errors
The break has done South Sydney no favours. Two poor handling errors inside five minute of the second term will have added even more furrow to Wayne Bennett’s brow. It will take a miracle for the Panthers to get back into this match but points appear not too far away.

Johnston’s night is over
Alex Johnston injured himself while scoring in the first half. He played out the remainder of the opening 40 minutes but didn’t return for the second half. More time on the sidelines looms. As for Penrith, they haven’t conceded a try in the second half, but the basic errors are continuing. Rabbitohs lead 28-0 after 44 minutes
WATCH – Moale try
29% possession
That’s the shocking number for Penrith in the first half. South Sydney haven’t had to do a lot more than play error-free football until the Panthers make another mistake and then they strike. They play a simple game until they’re in the opposition’s 20m area. Then they are great.
Penrith had to make 150 more tackles in the first half. Wowsers.

Woeful stuff from Penrith
We haven’t seen a blog post headline like this for at least five years. Penrith have just conceded another try, and it was another bad one to surrender. Jye Gray was the lucky recipient from dummy half after another Penrith error gifted them a great attacking opportunity. Rabbitohs lead 28-0 at halftime
