The crowd at Capital One Arena has been enjoying a mini-concert by Kid Rock, whom Trump praised in a video message as “one of the greatest entertainers of our time”.

There was also a brief appearance by two Puerto Rican musical artists, which was perhaps considered necessary after a speaker at Trump’s pre-election New York rally angered Puerto Ricans by calling the territory an island of garbage.

Then, actor Jon Voight joined the party, telling the arena Trump will “bring God back to our nation’s truths … he will make her thrive again. He will save the greatest country, America the beautiful”.

Trump’s victory in November was “the greatest win of all time”, the 86-year-old said.

Understatement is not a common trait in the MAGA-verse.

And now senior Trump campaign adviser Stephen Miller has taken to the stage for his usual pep talk.

“In just one more day, it’s goodbye Joe Biden, goodbye Kamala Harris, goodbye Democrats and hello to the golden age of America and welcome back Donald J. Trump,” he says to cheers.

“It’s been four long years. It has felt like 400 years. Four years of weakness. Four years of humiliation and embarrassment. Four years of persecution. Four years of inflation, poverty, incompetence. Four years of betrayal. Four years of wide open undefended unprotected open borders.

“But tomorrow at 12pm that’s all going to end.”
